Arts & Design
Today’s push for innovation requires students to have an educational foundation in the STEM subjects including Science, Technology, Engineering and Math. We at Tesseract believe that Art & Design is also an important foundation for our students and is necessary for our country’s economic future.
Here at Tesseract, our philosophy of educating the whole child includes an immersion into the fine arts. Students explore a full range of art mediums including those for drawing, animation, sculpture and digital art. Music is enjoyed three days a week and includes singing, music theory, rhythm, instruments and performance.
Third and fourth graders work directly with an Architectural firm to understand the nature of designing buildings. Then, working in collaborative groups, they design a building and then create it in Mind Craft by learning how to code for the games architectural applications. As they progress through the grades, students are provided opportunities to do more advanced coding and are introduced to robotics through our middle school Science program.
Technology is an integral part of all aspects of our curriculum beginning in the early grades and expanding to a full 1:1 iPad program in our middle school.
